  • LiveShare update 1.2.9 for iPhone

The new LiveShare version is out, which will be particularly exciting for all the iOS 5 users out there. The new update is now compatible with iOS 5!

In addition, the new home view will enable you to view all your updates in one place, whether it’s a new comment on your photo, a new photo someone added to a stream you are following, or a new stream that you are invited to. What’s extra cool about this new activity feed is that you can like and comment on photos directly in line, without having to load the full image first.

You can still find all the streams that you created and are following by tapping your profile photo.

We’ve also added more robust geo-location features. This means that you can now explore public groups created in your vicinity by going to liveshare.com on your mobile phone (location has to be enabled on Safari). What’s super awesome about this is that you can share with people in the same context as you, without having to be their Facebook friend or in each other’s contact lists.

Try using these public groups for your next conference, party, or the next wedding you go to, where you might not know everyone who is there, but still want to be able to see everyone’s shared content in the stream. To create a public group, simply create a group on liveshare.com on your desktop browser, and select “public”. This is also possible on Android phones already, and we will be bringing this feature to iPhone soon.

  • New LiveShare Update for Everyone!

We’re excited to announce a brand new version of LiveShare! This new version has a much more beautiful and simplified home view, which makes the app experience easier than ever. In addition, we have increased speed and performance significantly so that you can snap and upload photos as those moments happen.

Here are three awesome new features in version 1.2.7:

Create public streams (Android and Web only, iPhone coming soon!)
In addition to creating private groups with your friends, you can now also create public streams that anyone can participate in. To create a public stream, just check the “Make this stream Public” box. You can share your public stream out to Facebook, Twitter, or just email them the link, so you no longer have to invite every friend separately and you can publish any content to the world!

    Find public streams around you
Now, you can visit liveshare.com on the browser on your mobile phone to explore public groups created in your vicinity and launch into the app experience to join and participate in them. Try using this at large events like weddings, parties, or conferences, where you might not be friends with all the attendees, but still want to be able to see everyone’s photos in one place!

By bridging this gap between native and web experience, we’re making LiveShare more accessible to everyone – even those without the app on their phones, making LiveShare the easiest way to collect shared experiences anywhere with anyone.

Notification feed (Android only, iPhone coming soon!)
Lastly, we’ve added a drop-down notifications feed so that you can keep track of what’s new in your LiveShare circles!

We hope you enjoy this upgrade for Android, iPhone, and web! As always, let us know what you think in the comments below or email us.

  • New LiveShare Release – Better, more personal than ever

Today, we’re releasing a new LiveShare update that will hopefully make your LiveShare experience more fun and personal than ever! A lot of the added features have been heavily requested from LiveShare users like you, so check out the rundown of what’s new (and be sure to watch the video at the bottom!):

Better, more flexible sign-up and invitations
Based on overwhelming user feedback, now you have the option to sign-up not only via Facebook Connect, but also by email or phone. You can also invite friends who aren’t using LiveShare yet to your streams via email or SMS for added convenience. With these expanded options, this means that now you can share with everyone, without being bounded by a specific social network.

    Personal LiveShare profiles
Tap the upper left profile icon to manage your account information, include a profile picture and see all your LiveShare connections in one place as well as the groups and streams you’ve created so far. This also makes it easy for you to start a new stream with any of your LiveShare friends. Don’t forget to link and verify all of your contact information to your LiveShare account so that your friends can find you more easily (don’t worry, this isn’t publicly listed)!

    Create public streams
You’re not limited to invitation-only groups anymore – try creating a public stream that anyone can join for big parties, funny memes, etc.! Simply create a public stream on the web, hit share, and send the public URL to your social networks – anyone with the link will be able to access your public stream on the web or on their mobile phone. Once you accept, hit the follow button to add it your Home streams. This public creation feature is currently only available on liveshare.com, and will be added to the mobile app soon.

Lastly, check out these awesome videos of how LiveShare users around the world are using LiveShare! If you’d like to be featured, send us your story to mystory@liveshare.com.
