New Hover Icon Option in Cooliris Preferences!

In response to your feedback, we’ve added an option to turn the Cooliris hover icon on and off. We believe creating a positive experience for every user includes listening to your suggestions. Thank you to everyone who made this a top customization request!

Hover Icon

So how do you get to the hover icon option? First, open Cooliris in Firefox or Safari and select the preferences icon in the lower right (it looks like a small gear). Unfortunately, this feature is not available for Chrome at this time. We hope to have it ready soon!

You will now see the preferences tab with access to all of Cooliris’ customization options. The check box for the hover icon is under wall settings.

  • New Cooliris, find your favorite content faster

Exciting news! Today, we officially launched Cooliris version 1.12, which offers a bunch of new features that give you much more personalization of your Cooliris.

SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR FAVORITE WALL FEEDS

Favorite an entire stream of content, whether it be the Family Guy or another TV show, photo albums of your best friends on Facebook, or your news sources like CBS News or The New York Times. Once you subscribe, your feeds will automatically update and show up on your Home Screen and Favorites menu for quick and easy access. Simply click on the Favorites star on the upper right of any Wall you are viewing to get started.

FILTERS TO SEE ONLY WHAT MATTERS TO YOU

Take advantage of the new drop-down filter and get only content you want. For any TV episode, see only episodes or only individual clips, or both. Want to see only news video clips? Or, perhaps, only articles? No problem. It’s all under your control.

    FIND THINGS FASTER

We’ve added subcategory navigation in the Channels menu so you can filter through the kinds of shows or entertainment you like. Our brand new interface automatically minimizes the menu of the library when you mouse off, leaving you more open space to enjoy your favorite content. Click the pin on the top of the left menu to keep the menu visible or unselect it to minimize it. Also, check out the improved search capabilities – you can now search Cooliris Channels for specific TV shows, movies, sports, or whatever!

Get it now and we hope you enjoy the enhanced features!

  • New releases: Cooliris Express and embeddable Wall

Attention website owners and developers! For those of you using the Cooliris Wall on your websites, we’ve released a new version with performance and animation improvements, which means that scrolling is faster and interactions are smoother. This does not require any action on your part, but we will be rolling out the new SWF to your Walls incrementally from our end.

We’ve also taken your feedback and feature requests and released a new version of Cooliris Express that you can start using today. Besides the new, slicker interface, here are some of the cool new things that you can expect with Cooliris Express version 1.5:

    My Cooliris Walls Manager

Cooliris Express now includes a personal webpage that allows you to view, manage, and edit all of your Cooliris Walls in a centralized hub, so that you can easily keep track of all of your Walls on your blog, Facebook or wherever. This manager also allows you to dynamically edit the content or appearance of an existing Wall in real-time without having to create a new one from scratch. All you have to do is click “Login” at the upper right of the the Cooliris Express builder website and login with your Facebook or Google username to access your personal Wall manager.

    comScore and Google Analytics Support

Now, you can measure the success of your Cooliris Walls with stats support from comScore and Google Analytics. With these stats, you can find out useful information like how many times a visitor clicks on each photo or video. So far, many of the publishers using Cooliris Walls have seen a five to six time increase in engagement on their web pages!

Better ways to share individual photos and videos in the Wall

Previously, you could only share entire Walls, but now you can actually share individual photos and videos in the Wall. So, if someone visits your site and sees something cool on your Cooliris Wall, he/she can one-click share that photo or video to Facebook or Twitter, driving more viral distribution of your content for further exposure and traffic.

Hope you enjoy the upgrades in Cooliris Express, and please send us feedback!

  • Cooliris for iPhone new update

We’ve just re-released an updated version of Cooliris for iPhone 1.6 to the iTunes App Store. (Sorry about the initial hiccup on our original 1.6 release!) This update includes a faster start-up time, performance and bug fixes (read: faster and better!), a new multi-search functionality, and a new app icon featuring our new logo.

The new “Search All” functionality means that not only can you do your regular Google, YouTube, and Picasa searches, you can actually search across all of our 10 search engines at once, enabling you to find what you’re looking for even faster! Or, if you want to search across specific search engines, like say Bing, Twitter, and Flickr, you can go into your Preferences and choose the providers you would like to use for the “Search All” function.

Hope you enjoy the new update, and if you do, please don’t forget to give us a rating in the App Store!

For those of you who were experiencing problems with the v1.6.0 release, we hope that v1.6.1 addresses all of the issues. If you’re happy with the update, please do re-rate us or adjust your ratings/reviews accordingly. :) If you’re still seeing issues you may need to turn your phone all the way off and back on to clear out some funky bits that may be hanging out in the phone’s cache memory.
