Well, you certainly have spoken loud and clear! Who would have thought we would have been in the top ten apps for Entertainment and seen over 250,000 downloads of Cooliris for iPhone in the first few weeks?

And, not only have you downloaded the app, you’ve given us a huge amount of feedback on additional new features you’s like to see. We value all of your feedback so much and have incorporated a lot of what you’ve asked for in our upcoming release. . . . Video, do I hear video?

We’ll be submitting a new release to Apple later today and have our fingers crossed that it will be in the app store soon. We’ll be sure to post when it’s live in the store!

If you’ve been following the goings on of Cooliris for iPhone for the last few days, you know about the issue with Apple’s firmware v.2.1, which affected a small number of applications during the uninstall process. Fortunately, our engineers were able to figure out a workaround quickly and we were able to submit a new version to Apple. And, Apple was kind enough to expedite the approval process.

So go download the app now and let us know what you think of it. We’re so sorry for the recent confusion and sincerely hope you enjoy Cooliris for iPhone.

How to Uninstall the Previous Version

If you already have our previous version released a few days ago and want to uninstall it, please read the following instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a bug in Apple’s firmware v2.1, we recommend you do NOT delete the old Cooliris icon show below in the “Applications” section of the “Library” at this time. You will get a warning message every time you try to sync, unless you keep the old icon in your library. If you would like to be alerted when Apple has fixed this issue in its firmware, please email us at feedback@cooliris.com.

1. On the iPhone, find the Cooliris app with the icon shown to the left. Note this logo that does NOT have the glow affect (like our new version does).
2. Press and hold the icon, and then click the ‘X’.
3. When prompted,  hit the “Delete” button.
4. Do NOT delete the icon from the Applications section of the Library.

Now you can experience Cooliris anywhere you go, by navigating the mobile web with our brand new iPhone app! Cooliris for the iPhone is perfect for browsing through media-rich web content on the fly.

Searching the web for media with the Cooliris iPhone app displays your results in the same intuitive, easy-to-navigate manner you’ve come to expect from the Cooliris web client. The Cooliris iPhone app overcomes the traditional limitations of mobile internet browsing by coupling the breezy, open-ended feel of the 3D Wall with the streamlined hands-on interface of the iPhone touchscreen.

Cooliris for the iPhone aims to bring you the news that’s relevant to you in the most hassle-free way possible. All of the Discover feeds available on our web client are also available on the iPhone, so you’ll always have the latest current events at your fingertips.

Discover on Cooliris for the iPhone also allows you to zoom in on the media and pull up the related story in-line by using the Earth icon. There’s no need to jump out of Cooliris and visit the parent website in order to get the full story!

This is only the first release for Cooliris on the iPhone, and as such it’s meant to help you navigate the internet’s news and media as simply and easily as possible. As the application grows, you’ll be seeing more features currently available only on the web client, as well as new ones which take advantage of the iPhone’s unique interface “ so stay tuned!

• Scroll the 3D Wall one screen length – 1-finger swipe
• Scroll the 3D Wall indefinitely – tilt the iPhone left or right
• Zoom in/out – pinch/expand
• Select media or go full screen – tap once
• Select an item to go one level deeper – press the Menu button
• Slide the sub-menu items to see more – finger swipe the sub-menu
• Open the corresponding Web page – click the Metadata button
• Show/hide the metadata panel – click the ‘i’ icon
• Share media via your default mail client – click the envelope icon
• Go home – press the Cooliris logo
