Happy Aprils Fools’ Day!

Appyhay prilsay oolsfay ayday!

Here are some of the best pranks we found around the web; we were basically dying of laughter yesterday while we were looking these up. Check out the first David Beckham prank on the Ellen Show – priceless!

Also don’t forget to check out the April Fools’ Day stream in LiveShare! Add your prank photos to the stream either by hitting the “Upload” button on the webpage or by using the mobile app. I’m pretty sure we will be adding more photos from the office as the day progresses – I personally do not trust ANYONE today, and will be checking my seat every time I sit down at my desk.

Happy pranking!

  • Freaky Foods

Disclaimer: This channel is not for fussy eaters, the squeamish and non-adventurous.

Our new feature channel is in honor of World Food Day which was celebrated earlier this week with the goal of raising awareness in hopes of alleviating hunger. Ironically, this channel focuses on Freaky Foods that make you want to stay hungry!

Of course this channel is inundated with gross bugs (grasshoppers, roaches, june bugs, maggots) dipped in BBQ sauce, chocolate and a variety of other delicious things. However, there are some freaky foods that make Fear Factor look like a walk in the park.  Ever wonder what a raw, fresh fish’s orbital socket tastes like? What about a beating, bloody frog heart on a skewer? Any takers for some good ol’ cow urine? Or some crunchy, fried tarantulas?

This video was taken by yours truly when I spent 4 months in Western Samoa. Before we proceeded to eat this piggy, our chef pulled its lungs out, blew them up and giggled.

Since you are now in a staring contest with the trash can beside you, here is a video to cheer up your insides!

P.S If they had these vending machines in college, I would have never put on those late night pounds!

  • True Blood VS. Twilight

    Credits

Don’t pretend like you didn’t expect a True Blood or Twilight feature channel at some point, because the vampires have penetrated pop culture too deep to go unnoticed ! I’m not a die-hard fan or an obsessed tween, but I do appreciate some Taylor Lautner and Alexander Skarsgard in my life on occasion. In fact, I would be more than happy to watch just the two of them stomp around shirtless in their respective movies, and TV series.

Plot-wise it is fairly obvious that the Twilight series equals emotional porno for women. Every scene has Bella staring into Edward’s intense eyes for at least three minutes of silent tension. Even the most loyal of all fans however, stand divided on the raging debate surrounding the main characters. Team Edward or Team Jacob? Where do you stand? Take a quiz to find out. Turns out I am Team Jacob. (Probably because I said Yes to I like “lots of muscles.”)

    Credits

This Team Jacob video provides 10 convincing reasons on why you should be a Jacob Black fan. My favorite of these is #5 – “He isn’t a bloodsucker.” Seems pretty reasonable. There are at least 800 more fan-made Team Jacob videos, and an equal amount of Team Edward videos on YouTube all probably made by teenage girls between the ages of 10-16. Enjoy!

On the other hand, True Blood is much more risque, and geared towards adult audiences that prefer non-sparkling vampires. On the show, the ‘vegetarian’ vampires drink Tru Blood, a synthetic blood drink that is now available in stores. Wonder what it tastes like? Check this taste test out. Another perk of the show are the heavy southern accents that completely floor me. This compilation of Bill saying “Soookeeeh” provides an insight into what fifteen minutes of each episode sounds like.

Also, I would be lying if I said that the glaring gap in Sookie’s teeth does not bother me.

  • New Feature Channel: Oktoberfest!

    the tents

After 17 days and more than 6.4 million visitors Oktoberfest, this year is over. But it’s still Oktober and since most of us were unable to make it to Munich this fall, we have created this feature channel to celebrate one of the world’s greatest events. Oktoberfest began in 1810 and is world renowned for the incredible collections of food, beer and fun. As you’ll probably notice in this feature channel, my favorite Oktoberfest tradition is the classic Bavarian dress, the dirndl. Beautiful women from all over the world can be seen in Germany donning the dress.

All kinds of people visit Germany for this festival and this year was highlighted by appearances by Katy Perry and Paris Hilton, both of whom were spotted in their dirndls.

But at the heart of Oktoberfest is the beer. About 7 thousand liters of beer was consumed this year and while that may not seem like a lot for 6.4 million visitors, once you consider that a lot of those visitors are children that figure gets a little scary. Try challenging yourself here at home: go for the world record for carrying steins, or just head to the nearest local german bar and try your hand at DAS BOOT!
