Download our new version of LiveShare – hyper-personal group sharing for photos!

Exciting news – today, we are announcing the launch of LiveShare 1.2, a new and hyper-personal way to communicate with your friends across mobile and web through live, shared group photo streams. This is a major upgrade to the last version, which limited you to sharing in public events. LiveShare 1.2 lets you create streams on the fly, make them as private or public as you want, and see the stream update in real time with the photos from all the people in the group. Whether it’s seeing what your best friends are doing right now, capturing a day at the park with the kids, or a bachelor party that needs to stay in Vegas, LiveShare gives you one photo stream for each event, rather than multiple albums in different places for different people.
We’ve been working on this release for a while, and having a ton of fun testing it internally. We are really looking forward to hearing about what you start using it for! Get LiveShare for free on iPhone, Android, or Windows Phone 7, and check out our awesome website at www.liveshare.com.

I am pretty sure that you know how frustrating and time consuming it can be to find and share photos from a party that you have attended with friends. But now with our new version of LiveShare, the days of picture hunting through emails, social networks and photo websites are over! Now, you can create a new group stream anytime, anywhere, and invite friends who would be interested in sharing or viewing the photos together in a small group. Only the people that you invited to your stream can add photos, which can be viewed and saved by all friends who are part of the stream.

LiveShare is much more than a photo app, it’s a way to share flexibly in the context of a myriad of different situations, depending on who you are sharing with, what you’re sharing and where you are. Nothing else out there makes group sharing of photos this flexible and simple.

And for those with Android phones, LiveShare offers a cool plus: You can share your photos directly from the Gallery out to your selected group of friends by creating a new LiveShare stream or adding your Gallery pictures in an existing one.

We hope you get as excited as we are and try LiveShare! You will see, once you’ve tried it, nothing will stop you from livesharing. Have fun and share your thoughts about LiveShare 1.2 by leaving a comment below or sending us an email.

  • Next-gen immersive 3D ads from Cooliris and InMobi

We are excited to partner up with InMobi, the world’s largest independent mobile ad network, to bring you the first 3D media ads for iPad that take mobile advertising to a whole new level of interactivity and consumer engagement. Unlike any other mobile ad format, Cooliris Immersive Ads combine the power of its 3D technology with the interactivity of the iOS platform, resulting in an immersive experience so real you can almost feel it. Check out this video demo and you’ll see what we mean.

Pretty cool, eh? This is built on the light-weight and high-performing Cooliris Platform, which provides the ability for publishers to quickly add 3D effects including lighting, shading, parallax and motion to make the ad truly interactive. Everything is self-contained within our SDK with minimal code footprint.

The new platform will be previews at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week, so be on the watch for it! Contact us if you’d like to set up a meeting.

Interested advertisers or iPad application developers can learn more about our immersive mobile ads by emailing 3d-ads@cooliris.com.

  • LiveShare at the AT&T Foundry Launch

Yesterday, AT&T celebrated the grand opening of the first AT&T Foundry innovation center in Plano, Texas. We’re super excited to be part of the AT&T Foundry project launch!

The AT&T Foundry is an initiative to expand opportunities for developers and speed the pace of innovation to consumers and enterprises. What this means is that AT&T is creating a collaborative environment where developers and technology providers from all over can work with AT&T Labs and access their resources to innovate faster and in new ways.

What is especially exciting for us is that we were selected as the one company to represent the developers and technology providers for this launch. Preston Rutherford, our awesome Director of Partnerships, was part of the launch event yesterday with John Donovan, AT&T CTO, and others, and was able to speak to how great of an opportunity this is for us and what it means for us as innovators.

“AT&T understands the need for speed in app development, and they’re bringing the people and technology resources together to get things done quickly,” said Preston. “We’re looking forward to tapping into the AT&T Foundry Plano for the innovation center project surrounding our new group photo sharing application LiveShare.”

A new innovation center location will be opening up right in our neighborhood Palo Alto later this year.
