Hello there! Many of you have brought to our attention that iPhone version 1.6 (which was released to the app store on March 22) has a few bugs. Sorry about that! We are now aware of this and working through the night to figure out the issue and come out with a fix ASAP. Please hang tight and wait for our update, or if you haven’t updated to version 1.6… well, don’t update just yet.

The Stanford Entrepreneurship Corner (aka E-Corner) just launched a Cooliris Wall on their site! This integration has us very excited because not only do all of us feel passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation, many of us know Stanford as our alma mater, myself included.

The E-Corner is part of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program, an entrepreneurship education and research center located within the School of Engineering at Stanford University. The website has tons of great podcasts and videos of lectures and talks from some of today’s brightest Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders. And, if you look for it, there is one video of Soujanya, our CEO, Austin, our CTO, and Josh, our co-founder speaking at Stanford!

This is a great place for budding entrepreneurs looking to learn more about entrepreneurship, so go and check out some of the great talks and resources this website has to offer.

It’s that time of the year! If you happened to miss the first day of the tournament yesterday, Cooliris has the entire tournament covered on our new March Madness featured channel, so check it out for recaps as well as predictions and other news.

Thursday’s games did not disappoint. There were major upsets all across the board. Even Obama, who correctly picked last year’s winner (North Carolina), took a big hit as third-seeded Georgetown fell to fourteenth-seeded Ohio University 97-83. Obama had picked the Hoyas to go all the way to the Elite Eight and many had seen Georgetown as a serious contender for a Final Four run. Less than 4% of people had chosen Ohio to win the game!

Other upsets included eleventh-seeded Washington beating sixth-seeded Marquette and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame falling to Old Dominion 51-50. Thirteenth-seed Murray State beat fourth-seeded Vanderbilt with a last second shot that just beat the buzzer. Bay Area native St. Mary’s kept their momentum going as they defeated seventh-seeded Richmond. Of course there were a fair share of blow out games as Kansas, Kentucky and Kansas State all rolled over their opponents in the first round. But, if today is anything like yesterday, there will be many more upsets to come.

Hi guys!

We will be at SXSW for the interactive festival this weekend from March 12-15. Our booth number is 1210, so please do come by and say hello, check out our cool demos (and get a first look at some new stuff!), and have some snacks and drinks with us during the block party on Sunday!

We’ll also be showing a cool, new visual experience streaming all SXSW photos as it happens. All you have to do to contribute your photos is upload your photos to a Flickr account and tag it with SXSW. Then, come by our booth 1210 to see the new 3D photo experience in person. Is the Hurt Locker going to beat Avatar to the best motion picture Oscar?

Launch Cooliris and check out the new Oscars 2010 channel to find out the latest news on the 82nd Academy Awards. Unlike previous years, this time there are 10 movies nominated in the Best Motion picture category. Up, the animated feature from Pixar, is contending shoulder to shoulder with blockbusters like Avatar and Inglorious Bastards. This is also the first time that a woman, Hurt Locker’s Kathryn Bigelow, has been nominated for best director.

The ceremony will be this Sunday at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Cooliris will be providing you with the red carpet coverage as well as up-to-the-minute updates on the winners.
