Many of you have been asking about what the deal is with support for Mac OS X 10.4 and PowerPC Macs. Unfortunately, with Cooliris version 1.11.3, we are no longer supporting these configurations due to the multitude of new operating systems and configurations that we are supporting.

Because of this, unfortunately, some of you may have already upgraded to 1.11.3 and noticed that Cooliris has disappeared from your browser!

Here is a table that will help you find which Cooliris version we recommend that you use with your configuration:

All downloads for previous versions are listed in our release notes. Because these are older versions, performance may not be optimal, so we do recommend an upgrade to a supported system if you want the full Cooliris experience.

The Fall lineup is rolling out their premieres all this month. Get ready for brand new seasons of your favorite shows, like The Office, Dancing with the Stars, and SNL. Personally, I can’t wait for House: I’m partial to any show with a brilliant but belligerent protagonist, and they’re starting this season with House’s role reversal from doctor to patient.

Thanks to Hulu, all the big names of Fall from Fox, NBC, and ABC will be watchable on Cooliris. Our latest Channel, Fall Previews, is devoted entirely to all the premiere excitement.

Summer may be ending, but a new season is just getting fired up. Get ready for a great Fall on Cooliris!

Thanks again for your patience and understanding! We know many of you are eager for Cooliris support for Safari on Snow Leopard. We’re happy to let you know that we just released a fully compatible 32-bit version.

During the install, you will be prompted to change your Safari settings from 64-bit to 32-bit in order to properly complete the installation and run Cooliris. If you choose “Cancel”, Cooliris will still install but not run until you switch your browser to 32-bit mode.

In Snow Leopard, 64-bit processes are not allowed to load input manager bundles. Since Cooliris installs as an input manager, this renders us incompatible in 64-bit mode. We are working on a 64-bit version of Cooliris, however this requires a significant new release and we do not have a date for that version at this time.”

We encourage you to use Cooliris on 32-bit Safari, but if you’d like to be updated when the 64-bit compatible version is released, you can subscribe to our blog or follow us on Twitter. We will update these communication channels as soon the version goes live, though this may be a while. Alternatively, you can leave your email with us by emailing snowleopard@cooliris.com with “64-bit” in the subject line.
