Switching to Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard?
If you’re a Mac user about to upgrade to Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, please know that Cooliris is not yet compatible with the new operating system.
Snow Leopard renders Cooliris inoperable on Safari, and will also make it impossible for Cooliris to auto-update you, even when we have a compatible version ready. If you use Firefox on the Mac, Snow Leopard will stop Flash from working within Cooliris, although we will be able to upgrade you later.
We’re working hard on a fix and should have our new version of Cooliris up on www.cooliris.com very shortly.
Safari users, since we can’t update you, let us know if you would like us to notify you when a compatible version of Cooliris is ready. Just send a blank email to us at snowleopard@cooliris.com. We promise not to spam you and will email you only regarding this update.
If you’re not planning to get Mac OS X v.10.6 any time soon, all’s well. Cooliris will continue to work smoothly on Mac OS X v.10.5 with Safari and Firefox. This issue doesn’t affect Windows users.
We really appreciate your patience. Thanks for using Cooliris!

What kind of half ass operation are you running over there? Snow Leopard has been available in a very public beta for many months now!

Apple got rid of the InputManagers which use to be able to create plugin for Safari. There is yet to be a true plugin architecture to modify the browser.

I installed Snow Leopard and already miss Cooliris a lot..!
Please hurry up patching the application and give us an update – browsing through pictures without Cooliris is like cake without chocolate.
Kind regards, Beat.

The easiest way to run Cooloris and other input managers in Safari is to run it in 32bit mode. It’s not faster in 64bit mode nor does it eat any more or less memory. It’s just running in 64bit mode.
So, go to finder, click on Safari, check the box that says “32 bit mode” and your off and running again. Then your other input managers (at least most of them) will work again to.

I wonder why I could not launch Cooliris at my computer?
Eventhough I tried to install again (no way to re-install)
Any thing wrong with the browser?

Damn. I hope Cooliris are able to fix this soon, as I have become completely dependent on this excellent plug-in for browsing images. I use it every day!
How long is “very shortly”? Three days? Three months?
Please fix it soon. Thank you

Hey everyone who’s asking for Snow Leopard support! We’re working hard to get support up soon and we’re working hard at it. We’ll update the blog as soon as it becomes available. Firefox support should be coming within a day or two, but Safari support is a bit trickier since it is 64-bit. Stay tuned though and thanks for your patience!

Cooliris has given me a new appreciation for image browsing, I love the app and hope I don’t have long to wait for the Safari 64bit version. I do however use Firefox and that will work well as a stand in until you get the app right for Safari.
Firefox is probably a better browser anyways but I would rather wait for it to be done right than to have it quick and buggy.
Make it right, not fast.

[...] Cooliris, a slick image viewer plug-in for Firefox, needs an update. Michelle Turner, vice president of product at CoolIris, told me they were caught by surprise when Apple moved up the release of Snow Leopard by about a month from previous expectations. I pressed Turner to compare Apple’s developer relations with Microsoft’s, and she said, “Microsoft has a more laid-out release plan.” Still, Cooliris for Firefox should be out in a day or two. The Safari version is trickier (since that browser is a 64-bit app) and Cooliris is “still evaluating options” for developing its product for it. You can sign up for update notifications. [...]

Since it is not supported yet, could you please add a procedure to remove (either manually) cooliris ? Thank you.

I’ve heard there are some wildlife groups trying to get Apple to do more stuff with the actual S.L.’s lol. I don’t know- people are saying it’s good PR for Apple- they should jump on that.

Well, I got my answer! Power PC is no longer supported in the new version.
