Cooliris in Presentation Mode

Tricking Out Cooliris as a Presentation Tool from Alan Levine aka CogDog:

“The Jump to Web functionality is what I really dug as I do so many presentations about the web, and going from something like powerpoint to the web and back is just awkward. My CoolIris presentation is accessed ON the web and I can access other web content seemlessly by using the right-more icon below the image…”

I recently came across this awesome blog post about using Cooliris as a presentation tool. We have built a Cooliris plug-in for Powerpoint a while ago, but this really takes it to a different level by integrating the flexibility of the web. It’s a great implementation with a detailed step-by-step of how he used the full featured method to enable his website and show off his presentation – I love it!

  • Gather ˜round The Watercooler

Hey everyone! My name is Robert and I’m the Lead Visual Designer here at Cooliris. I thought I’d take a few moments to tell you all about our new blog: The Watercooler.

Ever since we launched our website redesign last October, we’ve been working on creating a new blog. We wanted something that was more than just marketing tool, and we wanted something that appealed to more than people related to Cooliris.

When designing the new blog, I took cues from two of my favorite blogs, Daring Fireball and Boing Boing. Daring Fireball has two great entry styles, a linked list format, and then a more traditional long post. So we’re adding a Daring Fireball linked list style post to things that we find are interesting. The Linked List entries will be launching soon. Boing Boing has many distinct voices, so we’re inviting more members of the company to participate, so you’ll be able to get different perspectives from different people.

    Light Switch

One thing we’ve noticed is that some of you guys have difficulty reading light text on a dark background. So by default we’ve designed our blog to be dark text on a light background, however if you’re like some of us and up at 3:00am, you can switch to light text on a dark background so you’ll be able to read the blog without hurting your eyes.

    Linkage on the Left

Along with recent and popular posts, we’ve joined some of the top social networks so you can keep track of what we’re up to. If you’re on any of those networks, we’d love for you to friend us! We’ve also added links to our Media Kit, and Tell A Friend pages, so if you’re feeling compelled to spread the word of Cooliris, you can!
