Share Your Media Experience with Friends and Family!

Surfing through photos and videos with Cooliris (The Phenomenon Formerly Known as PicLens) has allowed users to keep up with the latest news, entertainment, and albums from family and friends. But until now, there’s been no way for users to share their best finds with their social circle.

Cooliris version 1.8 features a great new addition: Sharing! Create a login in a matter of seconds, and you’ll be able to send photos and videos to anyone you want! In no time, your friends and relatives will find themselves at your newly-made media collection, complete with your commentary!

How does it happen? Just use the sharing button (envelope icon) to create a new message. While surfing the web with Cooliris, drag and drop as many pictures and videos as you like. Then write a few words to your contacts, click Send, and you’re done!

Now Cooliris’s 3D Wall is the fastest way to search, view, AND share media. And that’s not all that has changed in version 1.8.

By popular demand, we’ve also introduced improved and expanded International content on Discover: now Cooliris brings you more of the world than ever before. And our Olympics coverage gives you a front row seat for some of the most heated athletic competitions in history!

Don’t worry that PicLens has a new name “ it’s still the same great product! We’ll be talking about the reasons behind the transition to Cooliris later this week.

There’s never been a better time to use Cooliris. You can download the latest build from www.cooliris.com, see the world with Discover, and start sharing multimedia with friends and family!

why have you renamed the product?
      PicLens is way better IMHO
Your site is still half branded PicLens and cooliris – are you half decided on whether to change?

    2. Renamr Says:

      one more thing.
      is it
      cooliris
      or
      Cooliris

your branding is typically cooliris but the head.title to this blog is Cooliris?

This new function is great, but WHY DON’T YOU MAKE IT FOR LINUX :’( !!! If you can do that, why you cannot make cooliris cross-plataform? WHY, OHH WHY!!!

I really do prefer PicLens and am disappointed that in order to tell someone about this extension I love, I have to call it COOLIris. Nothing cool is actually named “cool.” Sorry to sound like a bobbysoxer there, but if you want word-of-mouth, this is not the way to do it.

Looking forward to the “We’ll be talking about the reasons behind the transition to Cooliris later this week.” post.

      My guesses are
      1) you found PicLens was a swear word in swahili or something?
      2) it was trademarked somewhere?
      3) the word “pic” connotates photo when you can do video too
      4) you recruited some new marcom guy who decided to make his mark on the company

Either way the renaming is baffling when there are 5,323 references to piclens.com on Technorati and 0 (zero!) to cooliris.com.

      Fascinated to see the reasoning!
