Everything’s A-Okay: Supporting Firefox v3 RC1
When Firefox’s version 3 Release Candidate (RC1) came out last week, users found that some Firefox extensions “ including PicLens “ stopped working properly.
Well, we’ve got good news! Our team has been pulling some late nights to get it working again, and voila! We’ve just relaunched PicLens v. 1.6.4 on our website so that it now fully jives with Firefox v3 RC1.
Note that our newest release will work only on Firefox v3.0 RC1 and beyond, and is not backwards compatible with Firefox 3b5 or other earlier Firefox 3.0 versions. Firefox v3.0 RC1 is close to the finished Firefox 3 product, which promises to be amazing. If you haven’t tried it yet, you can get it here.
Let’s fire it up and get back to enjoying online photos and videos on the “3D Wall!”

What about coolirs previews for FF3? Not having that plugin for firefox 3 is the only thing stopping me from ditching firefox 2 and using firefox 3 full time (well that a few other plugins)!

I know what the problem is! On your site is always the link for Firefox 2, even if you have Firefox 3. Just look at the URL, there is a piece with ‘win-ff2-release’. If you download this with using Firefox 3, Firefox crashes. If you ‘win-ff2-release’ changes to ‘win-ff3-release’, Firefox is doing just works.
Sorry for my post here, but this is the quickest way to let it know you. This message is of course not be published.

Do you have any idea when the new version for Safari will be released? Will it have all the new features? Same with Previews.
Thanks!

Hi, just wanted to point out that you might want to update it on AMO as well; that’s currently showing the latest version as 1.6.3.2361, rather than the 1.6.4.3021 version your own website shows:

PicLens is a wonderful firefox plugin. However, I can only use it rarely because it lacks the abillity to directly save pictures without having to close PicLens. As it is now, you have to re-open PicLens and find the position where you last were first to further enjoy it. And you have to do that every time you want to save an image.
In my case, that is way to often and sicnificantly decreases the “fun” i have with PicLens.

I’ve sent you some info on how to fix the bug with CustomizeGoogle and PicLins not working together. I hope you can fix it soon.

I’m with Daniel – the option to ‘Rewrite links to point straight to the images’ is one of the primary reasons I use CustomizeGoogle, which is a *brilliant* enhancement to both my FF and gImages experiences.
I *love* PicLens, but I need the ability to go straight to the source image from gImage results. (Is there another way?)
If he’s sent you info on how to make the two place nicely, can you tell us if/when such a fix might be coming?
Thx!!! Props to both of you!
